Iโ€™m thrilled to share some important updates!

With the latest update, thanks to the default resolution and settings, the display delay has dropped to 1-2 ms!!! ๐Ÿš€ In 1080p, itโ€™s now between 2 and 4 ms. ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ

Iโ€™ve resolved almost all ghosting ๐Ÿ‘ป and synchronization issues โœ….

โœจ Additionally, Iโ€™ve received extensive feedback from players regarding old issues like ghosting, desynchronization, and bugs (some dating back to the Vircom or DS). A significant majority of these issues are now fully resolved.

๐Ÿ”ฎ Hereโ€™s whatโ€™s next on my timeline:

  • ๐Ÿ‘Œ Add some Quality of Life improvements to the client.

  • โš™๏ธ Focus more time on the Abomination server for an official launch beyond the test phase in the coming weeks.

  • ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Continue working on the server side for a complete rewrite, just like we did for the client.

  • ๐Ÿšซ Permanently remove outdated systems (ODBC, Guild, PVP System, Arena System...) and replace them with functional and configurable systems.

  • ๐Ÿ” Analyze desired evolutions for T4C.

  • ๐ŸŽจ Rewrite the graphics engine.

  • ๐ŸŒŸ Add new graphics.

๐Ÿ’ช Although it took longer than expected to fix all these issues, weโ€™ve reached an exciting new milestone for T4C!

Weโ€™re building on solid foundations, opening the door to many future possibilities. ๐Ÿš€

๐ŸŒ The next official steps:

  • 1๏ธโƒฃ Convert Realmud to the new client/server system.

  • 2๏ธโƒฃ Convert 4th Saga, if Dialsoft decides to keep the server (Iโ€™ve suggested shutting it down and moving players to Realmud).

  • 3๏ธโƒฃ Wait for the Neerya server team to finish their conversion work so I can integrate their data into the new system.

๐Ÿš€ Weโ€™re moving forward slowly but surely, and Iโ€™m taking the time to do it properly!

New color code for items and monsters (2024-11-17)

With the addition of a ranking system for items and monsters, here are the final colors that will be used:

  • Items:

    • Seraph-only item: Light red

    • Elite item: Purple

    • Mythic item: Orange

    • Legendary item: Gold

    • Epic item: Light blue

    • Rare item: Green

    • Common item: White

    • Classic item: Light gray

  • Monsters:

    • Elite monster: Orange

    • Mythic monster: Purple

    • Legendary monster: Yellow

    • Epic monster: Blue

    • Rare monster: Green

    • Common monster: Turquoise

    • Classic monster: Light gray

I can already hear some complaints, but regarding the radar, colors will not change to avoid confusing players.

As for the choice of colors, it is logical and based on other games. These colors are final, and you will get used to them quickly.

Important Update Soon (2024-11-13)

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Enhanced Security for Character Deletion!

๐Ÿ”น New: If a character disappears, it was deleted intentionally. In the upcoming version, accidental character deletions are no longer possible.

๐Ÿ”น Changes:

  • The keys Y, O, and N are now disabled.

  • Deletion works only with the mouse.

  • You must confirm your character's exact name with case sensitivity.

Future Modifications of T4C (2024-10-31)

Client

New Mini Map ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ

  • Zoom & Unzoom :

    • The update coming in a few days will introduce a new mini map with the ability to zoom in ๐Ÿ” and out ๐Ÿ”„ on the map.

  • Advanced Options :

    • Positions of objects, monsters, players (disabled), NPCs, and items. ๐Ÿง™โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ‘พ

    • Display of coordinates and other upcoming information (display of bosses with distinct images). ๐ŸŽจ

    • Coloration will be respected as before, with the ability to display different colors based on the rarity of monsters and items. ๐ŸŒˆ

Monsters

  • A unique health bar for bosses, with a level system (1, 2, 3 stars) indicating their difficulty relative to your stats. โญโญโญ

File Cleanup ๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ

  • Some client files will be removed as they are no longer useful in the next version. This includes all GM maps present in the DDA, which will no longer be used.

Recurring Access ๐Ÿ”„

  • It will be possible to have recurring access with multiple clients, solving issues with mini maps not refreshing when changing maps. No more worries about orange images if a file is already in use or locked for reading! ๐Ÿ”’

Disk Access Optimization ๐Ÿ’พ

  • All disk access from the game has been removed. Once in-game, the client will no longer read data from your hard drive. This makes the client slightly more memory-intensive, but with the reduction in size from 900 MB to 580 MB, this shouldnโ€™t be a problem.

Client Customization Options ๐ŸŽจ

  • New options :

    • Customization of text colors. ๐ŸŽจ

    • Option to hide other players (at your own risk) โš ๏ธ.

    • Automatically hide players in front of doors or chests. ๐Ÿšช

    • Option to hide capes, wings, or hats of other players. ๐ŸŽฉ๐Ÿฆธโ™‚๏ธ

  • Quality of Life :

    • These changes aim to enhance quality of life without affecting gameplay!

Graphics ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ

  • Evolution of graphic data with a new system to eliminate object duplication and create skins.

  • Addition of a "skin" field in items, initialized to 0 (no risk to player data).

  • Associating a graphic with different color palettes, allowing for customization of all colors without duplicating images. ๐ŸŽจ

Server

Server Stability ๐Ÿ”ง

  • The server is currently very stable, with only a few crashes due to programming errors on my part. Since the implementation of Abomination, it has not crashed again (except for network outages). โšก This doesnโ€™t mean it wonโ€™t have issues, but weโ€™re doing our best!

System Rewriting ๐Ÿ”„

  • A complete rewrite of several systems is planned, including :

    • Guilds : Ability to create, rename, or delete a guild, change the leader of a guild. ๐Ÿฐ

    • Auction House : Revised system for a better experience. ๐Ÿท๏ธ

    • Groups : Improvement of group-related features. ๐Ÿ‘ฅ

  • NPCs : Everything will be doable in-game, with NPCs allowing players to:

    • Rename themselves. โœ๏ธ

    • Change the color of their names. ๐ŸŒˆ

    • Change their titles.

  • New Graphics Engine ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ : Once this phase is complete, a new graphics engine will be created so T4C can utilize GPUs, bringing better performance and visuals! ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ’จ

Cheat Detection ! (2024-07-28)

After a few weeks of various users trying out the new launcher, I have updated the cheat detection algorithm. Previously, there were many false positives. Now, these will no longer be flagged unless new false positives are discovered.

I also want to remind you that if the launcher displays a message about a detected third-party software that you don't have, you can send me a private message on Discord so that I can fix the issue as quickly as possible.

This is a complex task to implement, and it will take several weeks for this new system to become fully operational.
